Last year, I did 78 trips. 78 successful trips. I worked hard as a fishing guide and forgave a personal summer break from classes to help others catch fish. These trips were very rewarding because of the memories made, new friends met, and life lessons learned. Guiding is no cake walk, but it has its rewards. Working hard and building a reputation takes ambition, and lots of coffee due to the hard hours of catching bait (sometimes all night) and fishing sometimes daylight to dark.
I plan on guiding the spring of 2018 until the summer of 2019. I plan on attending medical school and giving up this lifestyle in June of 2019. This is a choice that I have made based on my future and dreams I have had since elementary school.
During this last guiding season, I am going to work my tail off to give EVERY client the trip of their lives of Cherokee Lake. The No Fish No Pay guarantee still holds valid. While fishing is predictable, nothing is certain, except if you come fishing with me, and we do not catch a fish, you will not have to pay me.
I will be fishing this weekend with my dad, and papaw, and enjoying family time with them prior to my guiding season starting in May. May is filling up but I still have 3-4 morning slots and a couple afternoon/evening trips are also plausible if the bite allows for it. I will post updates on my Facebook page-- Clay Nickles Fishing Guide Service-- as I did all last season. I did not add individual blogs on here, rather I used Facebook to upload pictures and document trips.
I hope and pray that all of my friends and clients are well. Now is the time to book if you want to guarantee a spot for MAY, JUNE, and JULY.. August you still have some time.
I am also doing trips in OCTOBER, MARCH, APRIL, MAY, and the first ten days of JUNE 2019. You can book NOW.
I am revamping my website, but my Facebook page will still be my main communication/events announcement source. Check out the new photo gallery with just a sample of last years trips. I wanted to include every trip and every striper picture but space and time would not allow. :)
I wanted to let everyone know what was going on and I hope to see you on the water.
